EXPANSIA’s Tim Gramp on Improving Mission Readiness With Integrated Digital Environments

Tim Gramp, chief technology officer at EXPANSIA, discussed the potential role of integrated digital environments, or IDEs, in addressing the mission readiness challenge facing military departments, sustainment organizations, operational forces and the acquisition community.

Focus on Integrated Approach

In a Feb. 26 article published on the company’s website, Gramp wrote about the emphasis the government technology services firm has placed on the “integrated” aspect of IDEs, particularly its efforts to securely integrate digital tools and applications to seamlessly link disparate data sources so that organizations can gain insights into supply chains, manufacturing, interoperability and distribution challenges.

“Insights directly feed workflows that allow program offices and solution providers to collaborate on a shared and authoritative source of truth. Testers are engaged early with enhanced understanding of new capabilities and the ability to develop automated and in-line verification and validation that ultimately supports decision making at the program manager and chief engineer level,” the CTO said of the benefits of adopting an integrated approach.

“The outcomes are decision advantage, faster capability delivery, innovative sources of supply, and ultimately an increasingly capable fleet that is mission ready now,” he added.

AGORA: An Integrated Digital Environment

According to Gramp, the company is demonstrating its integrated approach to digital tools through the U.S. Air Force’s AGORA platform, which was recently deployed on Cloud One.

EXPANSIA developed AGORA in partnership with the USAF Rapid Sustainment Office to help accelerate the service branch’s adoption of advanced manufacturing.

AGORA, or Always Guaranteeing Operationally Ready Aircraft, is an IDE of digital materiel management applications designed to address supply chain challenges facing USAF. The ecosystem provides a digital thread for technical data packages to facilitate the rapid printing of aircraft parts to improve aircraft operational readiness.
