Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and Prospecting: As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Cap50, you’ll have access to an array of research tools, historical data, and contract forecasting resources to help you strategically identify and target prospects in the government contracting space. These tools will give you a solid foundation, but you’ll still play a key role in driving your own prospecting efforts. Using Cap50’s resources along with your own initiative, you’ll generate new leads and build meaningful connections, setting the stage for future success.
  • Consultative Outreach: In this role, your primary responsibility will be to introduce prospective clients to federal contracting opportunities and Cap50’s services. Through thoughtful, educational conversations, you will demonstrate how Cap50 can help address their specific challenges. Your consultative approach will ensure that prospects understand the value of Cap50’s tailored solutions in helping them navigate the complexities of government contracting.
  • Lead Generation & Awareness Building: Using targeted outbound strategies, you’ll generate and qualify leads by identifying the right decision-makers and introducing them to Cap50’s expertise. You’ll play a critical role in building awareness of Cap50’s services and creating a pipeline of potential clients. Your outreach will help position Cap50 as the go-to advisor for businesses looking to secure government contracts and maintain long-term success.
  • Setting the Stage for Conversion: While you won’t be responsible for closing deals, your work will lay the groundwork for successful conversions. By nurturing leads and facilitating initial interest, you’ll prepare prospects to engage with Cap50’s Account Executives or Business Development team for deeper discussions about securing contracts. Once a prospect is ready to move forward, you’ll ensure a smooth handoff for the next phase of the sales process.
  • Collaboration & Team Support: As an SDR, you’ll work closely with the Director of Business Development & Strategy and the rest of the Cap50 team. Your role will be to align your prospecting efforts with the company’s broader strategic growth initiatives. Regular collaboration sessions will ensure that your insights and lead generation strategies are aligned with Cap50’s business goals, creating a cohesive and supportive team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred. Professional experience may be considered as a substitute for advanced education.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a polished and professional demeanor.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of autonomy and the ability to think strategically.
  • A “win or die” mentality, focusing on proper client selection and premium service delivery.
  • Prior experience in government contracting is a plus, but not required. Extensive, ongoing training will be provided.

Reporting Structure:

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will report directly to the Director of Business Development & Strategy, a leader who is deeply invested in the success, development, and fulfillment of his team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and Prospecting: As an Account Executive (AE) at Cap50, you’ll benefit from access to a wealth of research tools, historical data, and contract forecasting to help guide your efforts. These resources are designed to give you a strategic advantage and help you focus your outreach effectively. However, while Cap50 provides strong support, you will also be responsible for driving your own prospecting and lead generation. Success in this role comes from combining Cap50’s powerful resources with your own initiative and creativity in identifying and engaging potential clients.
  • Consultative Sales Approach: Educate prospective clients on federal contracting opportunities and Cap50’s services. Engage in meaningful, solution-driven conversations that address specific client challenges through tailored consulting strategies.
  • Lead Generation & Outreach: Employ outbound prospecting strategies to generate qualified leads and build awareness of Cap50’s expertise in the government contracting field. Your work will help clients understand how Cap50 can support their growth through expertly crafted contract offers and compliance strategies.
  • Conversion & Client Transition: Collaborate with clients throughout the bid process, from initial interest to contract award. Once contracts are secured, support a seamless transition to Cap50’s post-award team to manage ongoing client relationships and contract compliance.
  • Collaboration & Support: Work closely with the Director of Business Development & Strategy and the broader Cap50 team to align client acquisition efforts with strategic growth objectives. You will engage in regular “2-way” sessions to share insights, refine strategies, and enhance client outcomes.
